"17 hours. 4 Cities. 500 kč. Angry Babis. And Pilsner Urquell"

 Ahoj!

Alright. It was an insane week. I probs will forget something haha.

So it all started Tuesday.

We started having meetings at 9am. And then we had meeting after meeting until about 16ish. One of those meetings included drinking Kofola and doing Come Follow Me with a recent convert. Always a good combination.

We left that meeting to head to the train station to go to Prague. On the bus ride there, I may or may not have gotten scammed by a fake ticket checker. He basically told me the ticket that I had wasn't valid and made me pay 500kč. Kinda a Škoda, but hey, now I can say I've been scammed in the Czech Republic!

Then on the train ride there, a lady spilled her pivo (beer) on Sister Graham's stuff. At least it was Pilsner Urquell (made here in Plzeň), so it was the real deal.

We finally get to Prague and the next day (all that just happened on Tuesday) we wake up early to travel to the mission home so we can get a ride to Brno for MLC. We realize we forgot to get Graham a metro/tram ticket, so we walk to the metro stop to get a ticket, buy the ticket, make it halfway down the escalator (the longest one this part of Europe) and realize we forgot to stamp it. So we have to go all the way back up, stamp the ticket, and then go back down. I wasn't planning on exercising that day, but God has a sense of humor and made sure I got it in.

We had MLC, which was super good. We had a nice long chat with the Social Media Specialist Missionaries about how we are going to keep using technology to do the work. Technology has opened up so many doors for us. Europe is having so much success because of it.

After Brno we went back to Prague and then drove back to Plzeň.

Thursday we had to grab some things from the old missionary apartment and hand the keys over to the landlady so that we could officially close the apartment. We drove there and got stuck in traffic making a 5 minute drive a 20 minute drive. Then Graham does a super nice job of parallel parking in the perfect spot right in front of the building, and we realize we forgot the keys. So we had to go back home and then back to the apartment. Then we got two Czech Babičky (old ladies) mad at us because we threw away a fan. It's chill though.

After that whole situation we went to the hospital to visit a member. Czech hospitals are so sketchy. There's tiny apartment buildings that are nicer than the hospital. It was also super confusing. It took walking around a few times and making our way through the surgery department before we found her room. I got to be in a room full of old grandmas again. I love old people so much.

Friday we went back to Prague for visa work. And then Saturday we were in České Budějovice (ČBud) for district council. ČBud is a 2 hour car drive away, so district council kinda eats up the whole day. But it's good to see the other missionaries in our district.

Sunday we had a suuuper good weekly planning session. Definitely the best one I've had on my mission. We've got some good goals for the area, and I think we're actually going to remember to do them haha.

So yeah. That was our week. About 17 hours of travel. 4 different cities. And a ton of random things going wrong and inconveniencing us. But it keeps us motivated and keeps things interesting.

Today we went to a castle that was like 25 minutes from where we live. We walked around and then played Skipbo and ate chips and salsa on the castle grounds. Then on the way back we stopped at the random zámek that was on the side of the road. Peeps weren't lying when they said this area has good výlets.

We also went to our Brazilian friend's birthday party.

Spiritual Thought:

I've been studying a lot about agency this week. It's such a privilege to have agency. It's an eternal right that we have, and it's never taken away from us. Here's a quote I really liked about it:

"We do not believe in a deterministic God—that is, one who determines in advance the eventual fate of His children. Rather, we believe in a God who has perfect foreknowledge of the choices His children will make. He may use this foreknowledge to guide us or even to warn us, but He does not use it to preempt our agency. He allows us to become what we truly desire to become."

God never takes away our agency. He knows us, and He knows what choices we are likely to make, but He doesn't use that knowledge to take away our agency. Instead He uses it to help us. He will never take away our agency. It's too important for that.

Alright guys. Have a great week. Don't get a 500kč fine. Remember to stamp your ticket...and to bring the keys with you. Don't throw fans away. If you're going on a road trip make sure you have some good jams (or talks) to listen to. And find you a good place to play some Skipbo. Love you all!
